June 2021
Te Wānanga o Raukawa is on a mission to inspire and prepare more Māori to participate and succeed in the local and global tech industry. Whitihiko ki te Ao is a vision and programme of work that presents an opportunity to continue to elevate whānau, hapū and iwi resilience, by equipping Māori to design and build new digital services and products that contribute to the on-going revitalisation of te reo Māori and the expansion of mātauranga.
As part of this kaupapa, Te Wānanga o Raukawa is exploring the establishment of a technology incubator to provide Māori founders and aspiring entrepreneurs with the necessary support structures to develop start-ups that are grounded in kaupapa Māori and will achieve success on the local and global stage.
On June 23rd (2021) Te Wānanga o Raukawa with support from PwC will be hosting a meet-up for Māori Entrepreneurs in Wellington, an opportunity to contribute to this kaupapa and provide helpful insights for our future entrepreneurs.
This is where we need your help, to learn from your stories and experiences to help guide and shape our approach to realising Whitihiko ki te Ao. What helped you on your journey? If you could do it all again, what could have made it easier for you?
