If you’ve ever wanted to put your hands to the chisel and learn more about carving, now is your opportunity. This three week night class is open to anyone with a genuine interest in finding out more about
Toi Whakarākai (Whakairo) – come and experience the ancient language of our tupuna through the art of carving and make your very own pūtōrino.
Deepen your connection to Papatūānuku through the creative, healing medium of weaving. For anyone with a genuine interest in enrolling in
Toi Whakarākai (Whatu/Raranga) in 2022. This is a small window into the world of weaving. Come and be immersed in the world of Te Whare Pora as expressed in our woven taonga of our tupuna. You will begin with the preparation of materials and creating a kōnae.
Registrations are essential before Monday 7th February due to limited spaces – call now to register your interest! Both are open to men and women. Please note vaccine pass required, preference given to whānau interested in securing a place this year.
