Four Week Whakairo & Raranga Night Class

Carving Night Class

If you have ever wanted to put your hands to the chisel and learn the art of carving then come and experience whakairo on our free four week carving night class.  Meet the pūkenga, become familiar with the workshop and environment, meet like minded individuals and secure your place on the diploma this year. 

This class is open to both men and women who are seriously interested in studying the diploma, Heke Toi Whakarākai (whakairo) or the degree Poutuarongo Toi Whakarākai (whakairo) qualification.

Registrations close Friday 5 February due to limited spaces in the workshop.

Weaving Night Class

Deepen your connection to Papatūānuku through the creative, healing medium of weaving. For anyone with a genuine interest in enrolling in Toi Whakarākai (Raranga) in 2021 this is a must. Come and experience storytelling through the ancient art of weaving and make your very own taonga. Delivered over four nights, you will have the opportunity to meet the tutors, find out more about the weaving qualifications and meet likeminded souls.

  • Day/Time: Wednesdays, 6.30pm - 8.30pm
  • Where: Te Wānanga o Raukawa, WRM Classrooms, 144 Tasman Road Ōtaki
